Something to tease those grey cells with!!!

I am going to write about a random utility based object. Its something most of us use in our daily life- namely, a soap. To be precise, its L’Occitani (Extra-Gentle Soap). I normally don’t remember the exact names of soap (and certainly not French ones) but this one happens to be in front of me. In fact, we will discuss in another blog (someday, god willing) why there is a cake of unopened soap in front of my computer screen. However, today is a self-assigned test of my writing skills and a declaration of my complete and utter lack of anything-better-to-do!

L’Occitane

In a very recent episode of Grey’s Anatomy (this Sundays to be specific) the general audience (which consists of hormonally charged women) witnessed a man unable to recognize and name a common object-a glass. Apparently one part of the brain is allotted to the emotions and the other to the identification and memory of...well...Things. So I am also going to attempt to look at the same things differently.

Infact, this reminds me of another episode of Oprah (I think I may be rightly accused of watching too much TV) where a man had no recollection of anything. He started out in life at 30 with a complete lack of emotional baggage and cynical notions. How altogether wonderful and horribly scary!

Coming back to the soap….well it says it’s a soap but I guess we have to show some good faith in the manufacturers before we start scrubbing our wet bodies with it. Its packaging also claims that it hails from the land of Champagne (excuse that…I just learnt a few short weeks ago that only France has the right to call White Wine ‘Champagne’ and here I was thinking that they were two slightly different things…well they are…but if we start discrimination based on the origin of something…things would get very messy and perhaps racism would have to be re-defined.).

Its unobtrusive brown back also says that it’s a ‘vegetable soap’…hmm…I wonder what that means. Does it, as I have believed for so long, have vegetable oils? Or is it, slightly more improbably, a vegetable disguised as a soap? A task fit for a magician indeed or maybe a scientist will be able to crack the mystery in a few short centuries. I currently hold a low opinion of scientists based purely on a personal interaction with a student of medicine who has no inclination towards scientific research. It’s best if you don’t try and unearth the logic or connection, as time may prove that it doesn’t exist.

The cover also blabbers on incoherently about some chemicals in it. Words like helianthus annus (SUNFLOWER!!!!!!!!) and tetrasodium edta are also tossed around. (gasp! Even MS word doesn’t recognize them!....i am typing on MS because of th inconsistency of my internet connection and not because I am unable to spell to save my life…)

Now we have finally (wheeew) reached the end of my self-imposed task (wipes brow)…since I doubt anyone but moi will be willing to go through the above I will also try and insert some random insults for people I don’t like up there. (that should make you lazy bums re-read it !...*chuckles to self*)

Anyway now I am going to take your leave and drown myself in my preparation for the intensive study mode that I have to create…(I may sleep)…
Tata for now my sugarplumssss…*gags*…*has difficulty breathing*

*kicks the balls of the doctor who tries to save life…ahh this prejudice may prove fatal for me*….

Nighty night and be as good as your nature permits you to be!
Toodles!...:D

and just when you've figured out the next step...

just when you think life can't get any worse...out from somewhere pops up hope!...and not because something has changed or science has given us a concrete reason to keep it around (by the discovery of a vaccine that prevents people from putting on weight for example.)
Just randomly, the day starts looking brighter...and for no reason...and that, perhaps, is the best reason...cuz then you know ...you don't need a reason to be happy!...
you just need to look around and discover joy!
also, given enough time, the choices you made yesterday seem a lot more reasonable when seen in day/tube light!!!...
will fill you in on the days events later!...
one good thing about pseudo-heartache...sure makes you wanna write a whole lot more!
:D
ps-"and just when you've figured out the next step..." is continued by..."life takes a random shortcut by leaping over a bush!..."...
yes yes....allegories are so much fun!!!!.....:D:D

What i was driven to actually put on MS Word!

*An attempt at being positive*

Some reasons for the world being a happy-sunny-optimistic place

1.My nails have finally, by the grace of the filer, arranged themselves in a cute rounded shape

2.I walked for 3 kilometers, did 300 odd crunches and jogged for 2 straight minutes while listening to shaggy. (i.e. I’m healthy and the endorphins are kicking in)

3.Have finally read MacFlecknoe (and also know how to spell it!)

4.I have a diamond ring on my finger (always nice to think of! :)..)

5.I also have an unopened bottle of Ralph Lauren’s ‘Romance’ to look forward to! (feels very happy)

6.The disengagement with the non-healthy for self-esteem guy has been successfully carried out….almost like a detoxification after drug abuse!.. Only this one was for the soul!

7.My exams will get over on the 25th…and also start on the 4th…lets just focus on them getting over!...*optimistic haze*

8.Ayushi called me ‘pretty’ yesterday and I didn’t even force her to say it!

9.I finally deleted my ‘Unexpected Awee Moments’ folder…*sighs*…the cell phone also feels a lot lighter!

10.Swetha is asking me for advice….consistency in life is appreciated…and no sarcasm….mean it!(the only crumpled leaf being abhishek’s verbosity!)

11.I can write reasonably well!... seriously…really well!.......*modesty isn’t really in vogue you see)

12.My balance is a healthy 135.44 Rupees….Healthy as my 10 paise Vodafone-Vodafone scheme is still on!...

13.Had dinner right now…Indian Food is amazing!....:D

14.The zit on my left cheek seems to be drying up…It now may even pass off as a pink mark!...:P

15.Got my eyebrows etc. ‘done’…feeling pretty darn beautiful…(wearing pink also does that to me!...old snuggly old navy shirt rocks!!)

16.I was just reminded I was guy-less…well that’s something to cheer for!..ohh correction…I’m committed guy-less…thus liberated and have a thousand percent more chance of meeting and legitimately falling for the perfect one who should be out there somewhere…*gags*

17.My internet seems to be relatively consistent!

18.I share a cordial love/hate/like relationship with my family…which only goes to show that maturity really does come with age…theirs that is…lmao…okay okay…I’m talking about mine!...

19.I have a wonderfully painful/amazing/tough year that awaits me….i’m actually looking forward to it!...seriously!

*note to self: don’t end in abstract feel-good way…end in rational practical feel-good way*…..

20.I have 19 reasons to be happy with my life…and I didn’t really have to scratch my head too hard to come up with them…either I’m extremely talented…or very lucky…it’s a win-win situation both ways!...

Ps- I’m going to believe its both!...and something great is totally waiting for me!...actually, it may even be LOOKING for me!...

MUAHHHSSS!...*love to all*

Pps- ended in predictable way after all...but really....who cares!?!....:D...
*smiling big and living huge indeed!!!*

Prose- but not quite

It’s said…the sun can be eclipsed the instant you blink
But what if you were to staple your eyes
Is this how far you would go, to deny the truth?
Presuming, of course, that what you see is true...

A burdened heart is far too common
And a heavy leg means something else
Would another weighed down body part
Be descriptive of something ‘different’ felt?

They say that love is a painful disease
And that it hurts the most
But can those high flown words do justice
To a tummy that rumbles for a meal complete…?

It’s up to you
What you make of life
And how seriously you take expressions
But answer one day you must
One day you must face some facts
What those would be, however,
To them I am oblivious…

Bondage

From the shackles I was born into
I dream of a breath free
The cord of old notions, surround me
With the tightening of the grip
They hold me back
Though much I tug-writhe and turn
The pressure is immense
And my body’s attempts are spurned

Confining won’t be ‘right’
But millions before me do it
With a heart clear of plight

I do identify
The destination as paradise
But the path to it is littered
With shards of glass
To walk on it
You must lose some blood
But courage it seems
Seeps faster away
The journey is interrupted
And revolution failed
Oh liberty! I see your possibility flying away.

Bye Bye Love

Bye bye love
Bye bye happiness
Hello loneliness
I think Im gonna cry
Bye bye love
Bye bye sweet caress
Hello emptiness
I feel like I could die
Bye bye my love, goodbye
There goes my baby
With someone new
She sure looks happy
I sure am blue
She was my baby
Till he stepped in
Goodbye to romance
That might have been
Chorus
Im through with romance
Im through with love
Im through with counting
The stars above
And heres the reason
That Im so free
My loving baby

Is through with me

27 Dresses

We casually stroll into a chick flick…..but wait a minute…we’re seated next to couples (predictable as hell…our inner selves yawn),,,and…here comes the surprise element…4 high school boys….have we really lost our eyesight or have 4 young boys VOLUNTARILY strolled in to catch ‘27 Dresses’ in all its Big Screen glory!?!

Here is the conversation that follows..

Swetha (in semi-non-hushed-whisper) …what r those guys doing watching a chick flick?

Me (not even bothering to lower voice) ….maybe they’re coming out of the closet…

*n we burst into peals of annoying laughter*

Halfway through the Movie…a line is said by the protagonist (who has modeled herself on me..yeshh…ask anyone who knows my life)…after she realizes that the guy whose column she loved doesn’t mean a word of the romantic tosh he sprouts…

Protagonist-it’s like I just discovered my favourite love song was based on a sandwich

(Reality check…maybe it really was…any chance Hooverphonic has a bread fixation?)

Almost reaching the predictable end of the movie…

(Girl confesses love for guy on stage with random people looking on benevolently)…

Guy said-“Get over here”…(n pulls her into this incredible hug)…

*okay…tongues were also involved*….

**Swetha and I go weak in the knees**….how about 75 cheers for an un-cliché’ line!

….ps-do hope u didn’t think this was going to be a review….*laughs hysterically and the dogs wake up from their deep slumber….ohh crap*

lala words and all cliches

all it takes is a day for some people to become important
and others to fade into obscurity
all it takes is one conversation
all it takes is quality time
and resurgence of old feelings....
all you need to know about life
you can learn from the way you live it..
the way you perceive life
becomes your life....

another way of phrasing above..."your perception of life frames the life you mould for yourself"...
msn nicks can capture nuances well...
i wish mister i-dont-recognize-u would piss off..

later!

Ahmedabad

So now im back from the most fabulous trip of my life!...lots of times we just SAY it was great in order to spare the feelings of others but this time...i mean it....
Its almost scary how much fun we had....just sitting around...dancing wildly....taking long walks...rediscovering ourselves...making candid confessions....making out even!...(lmao)...nuzzle nuzzle.....(grrrr...hehe)
but whats even more unusual is how comfortable i felt managing everything...yes...i did do some not-so-intelligent things....but ive carried back great memories...right from the Jay Sean lookalike...to the hot drummer we chased hysterical with laughter!.......
we ate the greasy food...licked our spicy fingers and slurped down masala maggie.....fought over trivialities....wormed our way in and out of embarrssing situations.....met and liked a few people....fell all over each other and loved like there was no tomorrow!!!
we took baby steps towards public street theatre....cribbed over the miniscule prize money.....n then apologized sweetly......:D.....we're really selfish that way....
over the angry fight....under the starry sky.....with the best people around.....i had a fabulous time...who cares if we were more keen on punjabi music?...it didnt matter that we were freezing at 3 am in tiny skirts....it matters not that my feet will never quite forgive me for kicking off my heels...shrugging off my jacket and dancing on the dewy grass for as long as the music played......
blackmailing people to get out of the room....dressing like divas in the evening...and like PJ party crashers later on.....at the end of it all....we loved and felt loved
we hugged and were hugged
we danced and got embarrassed
we made music and not war
there was lil, sometimes no sense
but actions were spontaneous...
we were impulsive
and i loved each moment of being free
and feeling liberated...

so if anyone else asks me how it was...n really wants to know...
im gonna say...visualise a person...
feel a moment...let the wind play with your hair...
allow yourself to be swept away.....
or maybe...i'll just say...'it was great'..
after all, everyone doesnt need to know everything!....:)

ambiguous emotions solidified!
MUAHSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

a Hehe Moment!

"a NOTE from Facebook....the girl makes me burst into peals of laughter"..lmao

Context: Swetha and i are knee deep in a 'serious' conversation...choices are being dissected and people ripped apart.....(personal joke)

Swetha: so bla bla bla...(cant mention on facebook material)...do you know what he said bout music...bla bla bla....(zzzz)...and the song 'H*****'...

Me: so he heard it and cried?

Swetha: hell no..he aint gay.......

*n we cracked up*
