sat'day smells of something
Yes yes...it was a day full of driving....more driving...errands....meeting up...more driving....getting late....rushing....and finally collapsing on the bed and being denied sleep (thanks to Ms Froggy/Sw)...
Just came back from yet ANOTHER blood test..i mean seriously...lets follow nanaz words na!....namely....theres nothing wrong with anyone, its all in the mind...yes nanu i couldnt agree more..its just these stupid doc's who depend on foolish things like blood samples and weird suspicious procedures to declare someone as medically fit....me thinks me is A-OK!...:)
Apart from the needle actually piercing your skin....the fear of the needle itself makes me panic..now an old hand at this...the doc knows me and asked (very sweetly!) if i wanted water...maybe it was a rhetorical question which needed a numb nod of assent but i took him up on his offer...:D....felt better after gulping it down:D...AND i have a thick skin..no, not just metaphorically...people just dont seem to find any vein!...its probably easier to find a needle in about 15 haystacks!...(even if the needle was straw coloured, for the occasion!)..Sw was there trying to help though, bouncing around and trying to catch a glimpse of any green tendril going up my arm..Fortunately, it was over before i hit 70 (was chanting gods name...uhh..yes i tend to do that when im scared..)
Now post gulping down tomato juice and neembu pani...am slightly more at peace with the world...typing relaxes me...
:D
(the above is the reason why my posts are always so painfully long!)
now tata until i have something more relevant to talk about....

11.44 it is and the bed beckons...
saw someone skulking around this morning who looked like he could be ad...oh which reminds me of something hilarious..this well meaning uncle (of sorts..he was older than 30 for sure) pointed out to mum and me that we were "playing with fire"...wanna know why??...cuz we had semi-adopted these lil puppies (who are now full grown monsters and nip people randomly..bless their perverse lil brains) and provided them with food at a tender age...they remember the kindness and repay it by escorting family around the colony when walking...it was so funny that i nearly doubled up laughing before remembering to thank him for his uhh interest in our well-being...(the thanks came out a lil low and squeaky though with all that focus on controlling my laughter and all that!)
Anyway, just read text that wasp bit Sw...:(....she called it a 'bitch'...hmm..i wonder why wasps sting people...fear? self-defence? anyone ready to solve mystery and enter mind of insect??...no guesses please...well, okay...some allowed :)
Who am i kidding exactly??..and who am i talking to?
Technological progress just makes the world more complicated!
sheee-eesh!
(what fun it is to destroy perfectly sane words)
mumbo jumbo and jargon aside
the above had to be a freakin rhyme!
(just read it real slowly with a lilt in your voice and it may pass as one!)
Good Boy! oops. Slash. Good Girl! (these ARE the days of being politically correct right?)
hmmm. whatever. :)
Bolly-Wood(!)
If i wanna be depressed, i shall read a paper or watch the evening news...when i want a 'bite' of reality i shall hitchhike my way through Indian villages...when i wanna look at MY life, i will read MY DIARY...but when i wanna put my feet up (metaphorically) and sink into a comfy seat (relative) i shall catch a BOLLY movie...not hollywood though...they're always attempting to capture 'real' emotions and that seems to currently piss me off....Ofcourse i dont ever say no to a chick flick!...:)..those i swoon over (S and i both!)...double standards?..maybe
Stopped caring a long time ago.
hmm.
So anyway, i think i might chart my career in the direction of movies...or maybe im just in one of those deluded moods...
nothing in life is constant anyway, except surprises...

The deadline is a dot to me!
Finally. Finally. Finally. Finally.
Feel like copying that word out a million times, thats how long its been and thats how happy i am that its over. Lets rush through the last week shall we?
Told-we want 3 articles but this week a few more.
Reality- just finished my 8th.
Anyone smell a teeny tiny RAT????.....ahh...back hurts. eyes hurt. and instinct is well alive and kicking. Yelling, 'its just the beginning suckerrrr'. Yes, its a rude instinct.
Nanuz over :) So am waiting to feel more like a human before i crawl up to him and chirp away.
Put this green/brown in light/blue in darkish nailpaint. Of course thats 'Breaking New's', enough to break ones spirit in fact. hah.
Im such a compulsive blogger.
S says i'll be 'grateful' that i have an exact account of everyday when im 19 oops 20 when im 30. make sense any? well, i dont know why unless i'd be 'grateful' that im relatively smarter at 30 and probably cringe my way through most of these entries. hmm. haha. just because.
Now foots tingling so am gonna hobble around till it 'wakes up'.
Feel semi-almost-lil bit human. yes. progress. thats what lifes about.
*mwa* haha. haha. haha.
ohh btw, today i totally cracked myself up while bugging funti.
was just chuckling away when i said something as brilliant as 'aaahh, im just bumming without a bum'......Its really funny when you're slightly high from pure exhaustion! :)
so now, i will say ciao (chaaoooo...pronunciation)
hoppity jump
skip n' run

The Haircut
eeeeeeeeeee....lemme just run around waving two feathers first....eeeeeeeeeeeeeee
:D
The scissors went snip snip
nipping away at stray hair
pausing here and there
with a twisted head
and an angle funny
with clattering shoes and
a pair of flip flops
off fell the locks
but the head was happy
a smile was on the face
danced the heart
as curls grew pronounced
such fun
so much glee!!!
and cheers
and merriment went on for
simply centuries (okay exaggeration here!)
the world beamed
the night leaned into day
and the moon grew woozy
with drinks aplenty
legends are made
and honoured are souls
when part of events such!
:0
i know it doesnt rhyme or make lyrical/aesthetic sense!!!!!!! BUT BUT BUT!!!
i insist, it is true!
:D
happy happy me!
looking so very :D..tee hee heeeeeee...............

Zapped as Always
Have to finally finish that article bout the Eng Entrance being abolished... (in a less haphazard way)...dont like editing, re-editing, re-re-editing stuff...ahem...esp not when i have to work on it
Call it pseudo-writers block....strange, i know
While walking with mum today, could think of a billion things that i wanted to talk about
but now feel a lil aimless...
Finished the Bartimeous Trilogy, okay so i KNOW i said that i liked it cuz it had less idealism
but it turns out i LOVE the last one cuz that transformation from semi-grey to white-ish does happen...Nathaniel, *muah*
Bartimaeus...more so!
Kitty...you inspire :) (a lil reminiscent of Pierce's Kelandry too.....the 'K' game here as well?...my protagonist will also be named Kanta then!...yes im gonna write a fab book one of these days)
Light skimming through book continues wrt the study side of life.
ohh and people from United Salvation bla bla are coming soon...*rolls eyes*....ever since India was pronounced a country of 'browns' by some oh-so-awesome people, i've not been a fan.
(no objection to being 'brown' but more the tone in which judgement was made...yes, we Indian brown girls notice trivial things like that...)
Saw a girl bent over at an angle parallel to the ground in Grey's today, made me sad.
What reason have we to grumble bout silly miniscule problems when some other people are literally burdened with so much more? (no pun intended)
Just one of those days, hmm, getting a haircut tomorrow...a wee bit concerned..
and meeting to attend as well..guess i'd better get down to the article now shouldn't i?
ps-realized people can just google my real name and this blog pops up...so much for just 'venting'....but the way i now see it, if someone cares enough to google, well then i guess you're welcome to this facinating bunch of details bout my day...ho hum...

Slice of Life
Anyway, regardless of popular opinion i will type out what i wrote while sitting with Dancey and Sw....its like my gaze was hooked and i was a slave to my fingers that scribbled away in the diary that V gifted me...(totally for these sudden whims)...happened on friday...umm...yday...23rd?
diary's real pretty btw
and...
"The life story of a lemon slice-
wet and suckled on. Then quickly discarded for a new drink and cherry strip. Ignored and not worthy even of being swept under the rug. More likely, tossed aside with the more mediocre vegetables, think cucumber peel. Rubbing shoulders with the soggy napkin and eavesdropping reluctantly on the 21st century 'chick-convo'. Hovering between exasperation at their ignoring facts and amusement at the never ending cycle of heart-to-heart chats. Yes, the lemon slice was sharing wiith the girls, a slice of their life through their words. This was his life and soon to follow would be his neglected demise. If lucky, crunched up by a hungry dog or pawed gently (later viciously) by a barn cat. All in a days work, ofcourse for him, it was his only day and all that he would ever be. A lemon slice."
Reaction of Sw and Dancey you ask?...both were busy contradicting the possibility of any dog being attracted to lemon slices. After countered with the 'lucky' mentioned above, they stared for a bit and we drifted off topic. I suspect, much to their relief.
I guess i should just repeat what i told them about 5 minutes after this. "Inanimate objects are good listeners." and believe you me, i have never said/written anything more accurate.
So i suppose i must thank someone for the above (just because)
-Firstly, my fabulous parents who let me choose my own quirky path when they least understood it
-Secondly, V for giving me this diary that i will mess up with my tragic handwriting and literary masterpieces (see plural!!!, optimism is surging up in spurts!)
-Thirdly, i owe something to the lemon slice who was lying dejectedly on the wooden table prompting me to talk about it... (you underestimate yourself, my friend!)
And that folks, as they say, is a wrap!
:)

so very so-so-so
elder sis 'accidently' deleted WordWeb...arghhh
cant reply to mails on gmail...arrrghhhhh
and NOW silvers screen isnt working........
cannot, cannot work like this.
and no, by screen not working...i DO NOT mean the friggin screen light!
i mean the bloody screen!!!!
no words. no reading new messages. no light. no nothing.
all sucked away by some evil in the air.
argh argh argh.
and the world comes crashing downnnnnn........... even A noticed, and he barely knows me.
noticed that i was whining like a brat who wanted a better life.
well, that was the jist anyway.
How very BLAH. S texted. gonna be back on 7th! 7th! thats like 2 weeks from NOW!!!
:(.....miss her....miss the chats and the blahs and bloohhs and the empathy
:(:(...sometimes, you think life is rushing by and you cant feel it
but other times, like now, you feel that you're rushing past stuff while stuff is rushing past you
and nothing makes sense anymore
neither actions nor beliefs nor people
nothing
and then you're stuck somewhere b/w nowhere and wherenow
suddenly, not a good place to be
cuz you're tugged in directions you have no clue about
and being pulled in either one is not bold but stupid....
when everything happens at once and theres no time to take it in
my bet would be, its time to start praying
and whatever works. if its meditation or counting beads. or indulging in wild spurts of dancing and bhajans. whatever gives you time. peace. space. solace.
extremely personal. extremely you. the essence needs some rest.
it needs to be alone to talk to itself.
words are normally balm. but sometimes 'normally' isn't enough.
sharing is such a strange thing, making you put down stuff here when you could just as easily pen it down in a diary. and even if its not shared with everyone, in some small way it reaches out into the universe. glimmers. creates its own invisible pattern. risks being battered. and then makes its own journey, sometimes with people around and sometimes perceived as without.
without and with. alone yet not lone. solitary and together. blinking forever.
in your reach and out of sight.
beats and brays
The keyboard randomly stops responding,
But the voices in my ear continue,
primarily cuz the ipod has thankfully escaped technological aches... till now...
A plan of 'conversation and coffee' was successfully carried out...
strawberry and dancey babe were there... taking snaps in different poses
with Strawberry's 'dev anand' scarf (as christined by me)..
wasnt so adventurous myself, posing isnt all that fun
esp when the camera isnt your bud...(reality suits me more)
Got some books, hit them with ease
like wallowing in an ocean of knowledge..
have just dipped my hands so far,
even studies can be poetical if you enjoy them...
mini paras...shorter sentences...numerous dots...
all 'technical' work is over for both papers...
but the career-building starts here
GRE...hmmm....lets see...
nothings ever certain
and least of all plans made months in advance
Reminds me, V's coming back tonight...
the out-station thing might still happen...
oh jeez...'Too Long' still playing...
TOTALLY worth downloading..
ta a a a a a rum m m m m m ladila
ps-realized that if i pursue MA in Lit, will be in the same groove
as ive been in for the last 2 years... But ones career graph cant depend on
the people you interact with or the people you wont come in contact with...
how ridiculously stupid. hmm.
Life should be easier na?
strumming along unaware
I waited for so long
Outside myself
You see I was pretenting
To be someone else
I was longing to see
Who i wanted to be
And I've been waiting on my own
I've been waiting for too long
Not strong enough to be with you
And I've been making up my world
I've been painting it with gold
Not strong enough to see you
combine that with haunting music, and you have a winner :)

i am P, i am Pugsie
p(encil)-...*looks up*...you again?

p-*patiently*, i mean you've been strolling past me for the past 17 minutes. Or did you think you were being subtle?
me-oh, well. anyway, i saw legally blonde today..
p-for the Nth time, i know
me-i still think its funny, part two got interrupted cuz friend demanded i call
p-tsk tsk the limitations of friendship, couldnt she TELL you were busy killin the few grey cells you had left?
me-hey! its not like that, ive been working a lot. for dub and the paper and...
p-yes yes. lemme see your work blisters. ohh i forgot, you dont have any...
me-seems like your bad mood hasnt deprived you of ...never mind
p-convenient
me-i wrote with you...*trails off*
p-yes, i noticed. a tragic story on a large scale. "WHY WHY are all the intelligent guys gay or taken". i could barely find time to wipe my never ending tears.
me-i wasnt that whiny
p-hah, thats what you think...imagine being pressed down and almost cracked and thinkin the last words you're gonna be seeing are the depressed distorted ravings of a kid.
me-KID?...ill have you know im 20
p-then why not act like it?
me-what? how?...by surpressing the need to feel sad? its human to feel low and i havent done that properly for a while
p-so im assuming that pathetic pre-bday post wasnt yours eh?
me-why exactly am i rationalising myself to you
p-beats me
me-it would. hah.
p-okay pumpkin. go bury your head in some book. contemplate on matters deep and come to me when you need a dose of i-know-you-better
me-ive always known myself through what i write. guess this can only make sense.
p-the sooner you accept it the better. cuz of you i live and through me, you discover how it is that YOU live. the good, the bad, the ugly.
me-ever wondered why there are two negatives in that phrase?
p-its just human nature to drift towards the darker emotions. luckily, we've escaped that.
me-with only the perceptive whiny taunt producing gene to boast of?...
p-chuckes. go play.
me-*wanders away*

Very-Short Story
Today is going to be the best day ever, I silently promise myself. My mother or as I like to call her, ‘the woman who forgot to cut the spiritual umbilical cord’ has finally allowed me to go for a real live concert. I can’t believe how mature and responsible I feel already. I feel much taller than my 5’2; in fact, I almost feel 5’5! But maybe that’s because I’m wearing heels - another sign of maturity! I truly am grown up. I’m sure I look a lot older than my 14 years!
I spend the day waiting for the clock to chime 5 o’ clock. Finally, it does. I step out into the world. A woman. In fact, not just any woman. A woman who knows what she wants.
Oops, I forgot to take the tickets! Speed-rushing back inside takes care of that!
Now I’m standing outside the venue with my two best friends who feel equally grown up. But I have to be honest, I think I’m the most mature, I mean just look at how little make- up they’ve used. Kids, I mentally scoff, swinging my hair back. Oops, I accidentally hit a fat uncle wearing about a million gold chains.
We have to wait another half hour before we reach the main gate. There is this crowd pushing against me. It really feels uncomfortable. In fact I’m lucky to have mostly middle-aged aunties surrounding me. I can see how some Romeos are taking advantage of this awkward situation! I silently beg god to let us in. Almost teasingly god listens to me. Suddenly the doors open up and the crowd pours in laughing hysterically. Primitively menacing, it echoes all around. But where the HELL am I?
I am pushed against the hard ground and my body is being crushed by over a 100 people trampling over me. Strangely, it doesn’t register at first and I can just look blankly around attempting to get up. I’m not able to move my body, as people step on me in their hurry to get inside. I can’t see any one I know. I cry out and I hear an unfamiliar voice yelling for help. At first I’m scared, but then I realize it’s me. All I can feel are the hard stones hurting my cheeks as my face is pressed to the ground.
I would like to say that I had some deep revelation in those 10 minutes but all I remember is the sudden aggressive lathi charge by the police just when I got the strength to get on my knees. I was immediately crushed once again; a nine-year-old boy’s head was cracked open in front of me by the ruthless lathi. Now, came the worst part of my ordeal, a woman with immense body mass sat down on my hair trapping me instantly. Unable to breathe, all I remember thinking is ‘my life cannot end this way…I am not supposed to die’.
To cut a long story short, a man finally saw I was being crushed under someone and pulled me out. I still don’t know who he was or what he looked like. Neither did I get a chance to say thank you as he immediately left to save someone else in the mess.
I’ll flit lightly over the part where I finally met my friends and sobbed happily on their shoulders. Most annoyingly, I was the only one injured! I’ll also only mention in passing the highly painful tetanus injection I had to get and the embarrassment that washed over me when I realized my pants’ zip had been open from the back (embarrassment, as I realized it after I had been walking around for a good 15 minutes!)
But what is relevant is not my mothers reaction or for that matter anyone’s reaction to my ordeal. What truly left an impact on my life was the selfless act of helping out someone you don’t know. Also, it made me realize how precious life is and how much we take our present state of security for granted. It showed me that I had a lot of growing up to do and how it didn’t matter what my height was as long as I could walk tall and be proud of myself.
What I learnt was it’s not the clothes you wear or even how you wear them. It’s about valuing what you have, giving what you can and making sure your hearts in the right place (even though your zip may not be!). "
(Semi-autobiographical ...well, actually mostly auto-biographical... written when i was 17...ahh...those were the days...how very innocent was i...:)..)

sunday again
hard to agree more with a statement that honest.
does screw around with current perception but feels extremely accurate.
Well, here's saying 'cheers' to change in perspectives.
ps-planning a vacation with friends to dharamshala and perhaps port blair.
parents consented a while ago when they didnt take it too seriously.
keeping my fingers crossed.
ps2-V's party-fab!...danced in the rain. did kheeeklis with her 7 yr old sister. (turns out i dont dislike all kids). wore stilettos for a grand total of one hour (out of 14). dressed up and then down (say after 1 am). breezed past and ignored all awkward moments. got my hair fabulously wet and cheeks (adorably, pronounces popular opinion-MINE) pink. lost all senses and jumped, screamed, gyrated to every track and pinned up hair with various shades of green glitter-ed pins. Like i said. It was fab :)
ps3-was up till 2...took a nap till 3.30...been up since then. lets call me sleepy!
signing off
sleephead pugsieT!

10.28 AM notes
"Listening to Ani Defranco, for the very first time (properly) is like sinking into a hot bath full of soapy water
lowering oneself into warmth that surges up, clambering to make its presence felt.
from the very first chords, her voice draws you in,
hope followed by a touch of regret
confidingly depressing truths flow out
and the 'f*** you' brings us to the reality of arrogance which covers helplessness
when free will exists not.
Dreaming in surroundings alien.
it reaches out. like running hands through strings of bead.
up and down.
revolving in the same place. wearing white.
clinically taking notes and decrypting how this songs making me feel.
absurdly disconnected from oneself at a time when im closest to me.
make any sense?
Must be the shock of the anticipated loss of blood.
Growing up doesn't make you any less scared of what you were scared of as a child.
It just teaches you that its unreasonable to feel scared-convinces you to go ahead alone-hide your fear and ultimately, be 'responsible'
I close my eyes-melt
and hit the repeat button."
(Had to wait cuz' apparently blood tests are time specific...a laymen is almost completely oblivious to the wonders of modern medicine/treatment and the procedure to pinpoint the problem...bla im just rambling.)
May17th i guess
V-
Sw-
PugsieT-
how uber fantastico to have company
tomorrows V's party..(yes, the one with music and real people grinding to cheesy tracks)
and then a sleepover.
promised her on 13th that i'd give her my blog id on HER bday.
hence, tomorrow. or actually. today.
somehow i dont think i will.
Got her a lime green racerbackish thin with glam pink hearts in luminous skulls.
its terrific-ally her.
actually, a mix of her and me.
very hot.
zing-y. excuse lack of modesty.
and yeah. glamour-spilling bright sparkly bunny hair sumthing-fungyz!
and one more thing. but not as fun as the above.
for Sw i ended up making a weird whaddyu-callit frame on cardboard glass
and sparkle-stars...hard to explain.but it looked good.
a giant card, frog pen holder, lip balm (S and my fav body shop one) + other small trinklets later
i was relatively satisfied with my 'eclectic' collection of gifts for her...:P
and as for me. i treated myself to immense amounts of adrenalin pumping... happiness-producing... self-esteem boosting...WORK...:D
interning at a well known paper and collecting information that will help the misguided many make their way to light...yawn...okay. so its not that fantastic but i feel good bout it.
esp cuz i earned my way into it through a contact that i made.
no help from parents.
*smiles*
didnt get a response from dub though...:
strange. considering where im currently working is better than
what they can possibly offer.
anyway.
got something more to say but a knot in my stomach indicates
that i should keep my mouth shut.
after all, Pierce did say..."you need never unsay something you didnt say in the first place"
:D
ciao

a Hair Throw away...
it can be used in SO many ways
like
-i am a hair throw away from S
-yday, when i was a hair throw away from the banner
-as i was a hair throw away i can identify the axe murderer
plus....benefits...its different for everyone!
custom made to the size of ones hair!
AND changes with hair-cuts!!!...*such a non-blonde moment now*
Yday, when curly mop smiled at gorgeous one (think sensible, single, attractive 20 yr old)
S and moi realized the world is full of lame girls (not related to above...just an observation)
and sometimes, i like to be lame too...(again, not related to smile)
but how awesome to feel ages younger and a million times more innocent..
if only in terms of recognizing reality
felt 12 today....(S felt older at 13)...melodrama personified with lame (and frequent) insertions of hindi dialogues...(think....main mar gayiii...uski aakhen aag babooola ho gayiii....yes, i said all this)
thanks Sw...turned out to be one great evening...
almost a blast from the past....
*all smile(y)*
Happy Bday Sw !!!
*muah*
you mean the world...best(est) friend award recipient for the year 2008 after all!

An act (un)intelligent
The ‘interim measure’ taken by DU to do away with the entrance test for admission to English (Hons) is perceived as nothing short of disastrous by the majority of students who are currently pursuing Literature in DU. It has perhaps been far too long that we, as students, have put up with ridiculous decisions imposed on us. If now we agree, by common consensus of inaction, to bury our heads in the sand we are unconsciously supporting this act. This issue is relevant not only to the unlucky few who apply this year but also has an impact on the colleges as a whole as they may end up with students unsuitable and frankly unequal to the task of handling the course in question.
A final year student of Literature myself, I am only too aware of the analytical skills required to do reasonably well in the course and marks obtained in the CBSE examination are not an accurate judge of the aforementioned. In fact, this decision may mislead students into choosing a course that their marks gives them access to but which is not in tangent with their aptitude. This act is also viewed with concern by teachers who are extremely aware of the probable negative consequences of the decision taken by DU. The judgment pronounced and admission given will thus be based on marks secured by rote and not on the candidate’s proficiency or aptitude for the language. There may be various aspects of academics that CBSE excels in but the promotion of a creative mind or one capable of intelligent criticism is not one of them.
There has been talk of the introduction of a common test from 2009 but that too has been opposed by many colleges of DU. The reason cited can be constructed as this being a threat to the autonomy of the college as Anjana Dev, principal Vivekananda college, comments that “colleges should be allowed the leeway to admit students as they want.'' The University is also set against the idea of an interview and this only makes it harder to assess an individuals interest in the subject. This leave from common sense must be recognized as a travesty and voices must rise in protest. The body in power is clearly closing its mind to reality and shoving its distorted view on an unwilling system. The time to act is now and all that’s needed is a united front opposing it.
(Wrote this a while ago in an extremely agitated state...this would be the revised version for submission to a legit. publ. source.)
Princess Moments
Heres a few things that come to mind
The funny feeling
-which sweeps into being when I listen to ‘truly madly deeply’…the most cliché’ song on earth and willingly sway to it
-that makes you feel like the MOST special person EVER…
-when I look at the caller ID and its an intr call..my heart skips a beat and its Drake R..
So many months of pining for assumed friendship validated in one 10 minute conversation…
-of calm when I know Sw is happy chatting to respective bf after all squabbles have been mentally cleared up by yours truly
-of hilarious narcissism when I go on-and-on about a certain picture of mine…(taken when I was 16)
-that makes you wanna cry when you see what your friends put together for you…
S and A.. love you to the power n… for sure
-of not caring about anything but spending some quality time with the people who matter most…family and friends…(gave sis a backrub…she needed it…very stressed)
-of digging into the same freaking pasta twice in 4 days…(ugg.. funny feeling…boredom anyone?)
-of celebrating turning 20 with an impromptu friend-plan at midnight…V you tricked me into it…and you know what im talking about…
Turning 20 reiterated what I’ve always known…you don’t need a DJ, wild dancing, booze or too many people to ‘celebrate’…Age may be a number but it’s a good way of gathering up people and demanding some attention, love, kisses, hugs …(the slobbery works)….All you NEED is someone willing to tell you what you mean to em or better yet, showing you….Very Mush(yyy) again…
Btw…Citizen Cope’s-’Suns gonna rise’..current fav…thanks to S for the introduction..
Appreciated…

Multiple Shades of Sunshine
Just a ripe mix that you lust after...the scent of feeling special that all of us crave...from that 5 year old girl to the 35 year old woman...(age, bascially, matters not)...was surprised by a dozen people (the exact number...how very neat a figure!)...received exactly 13 letters (funti wrote twice) on pink heart shaped paper...spoiling one completely to a state of numb love...
crimson love indeed....(i was as red as a beetroot)...
Now V spent the night and it was completely over-the-top-fantasticooo!!!!!!!!
critically commented on 'clockwork orange' as 12 drew near...received calls....answered messages...and adored each second of the 'spotlight' as S put it...felt wonderful, as ive already said in one of the many bday videos taken, that people i care about would take out time to make me feel special...and that is more important than the millions of perfect gifts received (very happily)...
Very mush. Very happy. Very, very fulfilled.
Love you all.
Really.
Ps- Bday blues seem impossible currently, also- found the perfect inky blue jeans!..:D
Ps-2- Life, as always, surpries you when you least expect it. Esp pleasantly.... :D

Puffed Knowing-ness
brushing the ocean
flung from shallow
to deep
they skim over water
light, like buttered marie
absorbing the scent
of flowering trees
seeming to bend with the current
where no corner is seen
twisting and turning
rolling on sides and
treading on no path, before seen
circles and lines
are bright with colour
and pirouettes many
gestures elaborate
done with puffy sleeves
some hesitation,
even a few mistakes
but faith in destiny
and hope mingled in above faith
gently they narrow
and then explode
sorrow and joy both
in one tiny soul
aware of the universe
embracing all thats known
with eyes open
and countless places to go
circles and lines
so often ignored
have so much to do
a life they live
together, fulfilled
caked in with surity
rarely known
a lihaf of symbolism
and protected they are,
from eyes immature
and measurements
conducted to the dot
ambling on
to a sun far away
circles and lines
burdened not,
bound not,
by people, time or place.
*lihaf- blanket of sorts. often used metaphorically to represent ... well the representations interpretation is really up to the reader.

put in effort, thoughts and mostly expectations.
almost inviting disaster with optimism.
even when we dont try, we usually end up building it up.
unexpected people let you down.
rather, people you didnt see for who they really are.
inconstant. theres something to be said for spontaneous plans.
and traits in people that go along with it.
the problem isnt with the world.
its with someone who expects the world to circle around them. and change for them.
maybe maturity never really comes and you only delude yourself into trusting the wrong people over and over again. somethings need never be spelt out. but should never be forgotten.
i know now what M meant. felt.
its never good to be bitter. but it just so happens that its sometimes necessary to absorb a lesson. for good. or life keeps on battering you over the head with the same brick.
when you forgive and forget. you FORGET. either you spend your existence in the same vicious circle or kick your way out of it to find yourself right where you started.
but then you forget to change. its important to change. so you dont repeat mistakes.
instances. friends. so you dont end up in a place you dont wanna be. guess i forgot to change.
oops.
Angry-n-Unhappy
Disturbed and horribly preoccupied with nothingness.
Bored witless and denied humour.
Sick of thoughts of shopping for approaching bday.
How can turning 20 become the most depressing day of the year?
Lets find out.
1- cuz there exists no inclination to buy new clothes or look fabulous.
2- the blister on my feet ensures no working out and thus lack of endorphins produced.
3- have made NO arrangements for friends, cuz of sheer lack of interest.
4- a 2 day celebration...*cringes*
5- a sudden need to be alone when the week ahead is packed with get togethers.
6- not feeling my best physically...this time last year i was playing squash and 2 kgs lighter.
7- the net stopped working right NOW when i finally felt like venting.
8- have been through a whirlwind of sleepovers in the last 2 weeks...crave solitude.
9- the MBA books are depressing and the math- familiar and thus even more so.
10- apparently i dont look 20...and i dont feel it...no sense of maturity washes over me.
11- i just had such a different picture of myself when i assumed i would turn 20.
12- almost like im disappointed in myself.
13- my hair is limp. well, maybe not. its just not bouncy and happy.
14- Y calls EVERY night. EVERY night. *yeecchhh*...ugg...leave me alone!
15- feel like a horrible person cuz i hate taking his call...DONT like whiny people who dissect pseudo crappy life...ever heard of freaking not pissing me off Y??...
16- there, i feel guilty again.
17- havent been able to get full control over my life and almost none over emotions.
18- negativity still gets to me.
19- my to-do list isnt even half complete.
What i can make out from the above is that i nurture a LOT of expectations.
Constantly get disappointed in myself and others.
TRY and do the 'right' thing and more often than not, feel guilty about it.
feel BOUND by societal demands and constantly try and escape from that
compulsive need to please people and just be NICE all the time.
SICK of my conscience...too fucking active.
i wanna go away someplace.
IM SICK OF FUCKING PRONOUNCING JUDGEMENT ON MY EVERY ACTION.
such a bloody harsh critic and always on a do-good trip!!!
How about my just ACCEPTING freaking life and not WHINING!!
how about it eh?...
Just realized i even perceive being unhappy as a failure to feel the 'right' way..
for someone whose very aware of constructs...i wonder how i allowed myself to
be tangled up in the perceptions of others..Whatever happened to the Persian Philosophers
saying?..."What you think of me, is none of my business"...

the M word
written by someone i only barely know...
and they got me thinking...
Where we have been defines a lot. In fact, the recognition that we havent been somewhere
cements that awareness.
Shes fairly young...pretty even...and very much married.
and the last thing is what gave her access to things only dreamt of.
So does marriage to someone more economically sound make sense?
(remember 'more'...presuming you have enough to fill your stomach)
Always believed, dont marry too below or above you...(traditionalist view)
Or bear your inevitable discomfort.
When i heard of the match i felt sorry for her. (theres an obvious age difference)
Spent a few mins discussing the 'sad event'
with mum...Mum didnt share my pessimistic view.
Guess who had the last laugh.
I figured marriage was about finding your soulmate. Conceded its a romanticised view.
But its the one thing i continue to hold on to.
No space for religion or caste. But it seems class does matter.
So does your soulmate HAVE to come with a bank balance as healthy as yours?
Probably not.
Am in no hurry to settle down (thinking maybe 8-10 years from now)
Dont see Mr. Rigggh rearing his head anytime soon.
A lil depressing yet comforting.
Some Mr. Rigggh Now's though. Contemplated wasting my time.
Rejected it subsequently. Career matters far more than instant gratification of the intellect.
Honestly, all i seem to expect from Mr R is that he be an intellectual equal.
And i dont mean him sprouting sonnets. Just a 'resonance in thoughts' if you please.
Someone who i can bounce ideas off and enjoy being with.
and naturally, feelings reciprocated. (given)
How i've trailed off.
Gonna go and spend some time with mum dad.
Been a while.

twing twang
only not in sync-
"im through with romance
im through with love
im through with counting
the stars above
and heres the reason
that im so free
my lovely baby is through with me..."
(posted these lyrics before too..)
Update
V handed me 9 old CAT prep books...got mentally and physically weighed down...
Later caught up with A and stayed up till 2 watching Omkara (for the first time...)...
got tons to say bout that (mainly comparisons bw Othello and above)
Got up at 10.30 to 4 missed calls from Sw ...who demanded that we watch Bhootnath at 11...
tried to make it but failed miserably and landed up at 12 instead...
Barista was lucky to get our patronage as we put our 3 heads together and tried to solve one simple math problem..(solved that but got stuck on the one after)...rusty brains tsk tsk
A pushed off and Sw and i tortured ourselves...(and were 100 bucks lighter for it)...
But we managed to cackle it off...as always...*jhoom barabar jhoom deja vu*
Now Sw'z behind me munching on khakra...(and not letting me sleep)
Just felt like updating...
will attack books tomorrow...
(even the eng looks daunting)
*sighs deeply*

YNP-part 1
YNP has been uber helpful all month. Just met him once like a year ago and we stayed in touch.
(he made all the effort, though i needed his itsy bitsy help)
n now hez kinda gone above and beyond whatever was expected.
Its so strange that i still dont trust it..i mean..theres like this warning thing at the back of my head.
Why is he helping?
Maybe hez misleading me.
Myabe theres this huge conspiracy that im not aware of.
Sheesh. I guess im just gonna keep my faith, and if it doesnt work
out then you can bet your last dollar that ill be ranting about it.
But if it does, i shall dutifully swallow my mean thoughts and
accept that random kind people do exist.
*cross fingers*
Age 7-Believed it to be the height to 'coolness' to eat maggie while watching TV
Age9-Replaced above with the healthier alternative of chasing older sister(and friends) on bike, sensitivity to privacy wasnt my forte
Age13-Rolling up sleeves and hitching up skirts caught my willing gaze (weight appropriate dressing hadnt struck grey cells)
Age16-Pining in love for someone clearly not interested was indulged in...(often)...Under the heading of-'There is some pleasure in deliberate and unending (also self-inflicted) mental agony'
Age17-Pictured myself as the warrior who must get through the Math paper or die trying..i did go through a spiritual death that 2 years of studyin Lit has been trying to heal...but some scars are too deep to be completely forgotten...
Age18-Thought it 'uber-cool' to sparkle like a pink diamond with matching belts, rings, rubber bands...shall i go on?
Age19-Waited anxiously for maturity/wisdom/the ability-to-look-composed-under-pressure to shower itself on me...
Age19.9 (a week before i turn 20)-Now-Wanted to be a person who is comfortable being alone and with a circus...someone who knows what to say and also tries to keep some things to herself..(inspite of it being hard)...Someone who likes walking around alone with (only) the warm sun as company and when tired of it all, seeks out a good book to help out with the gradual process of acquiring knowledge and understanding philosophy...Someone whose free to do everything and doesnt screw it up..Who has her families faith and lives up to it...Voila!
The PugsieT of today saw the reflection in the mirror and liked what she saw...
Not only rare, but also a milestone...The days before a birthday are always the best
Sometimes, when i'm not too busy whining about the world,
I find my life fantastic.
Keyword being assumption.
How annoying to have absolutely no commitments and yet find no time for yourself.
Oddly, each free second i DO have is spent preparing for the next event.
Like this very second, i gotta go get ready...*blah*...
SOOO not in the mood to go out...
Society is a real pain in the bum
I may just be a loner whose occasionally fond of company.
*blehh*
Sometimes, staring into space for no sane reason
is the most entertaining thing to indulge in...
OR writing pointless and insignificant blogs...*smiles*
------blinks------
Note: These posts seem to get more random with time. Bear with me as i tolerate them,
in the hope that some piece of wisdom will accidently pop out.

"Powerless"
The concept isnt jaw dropping but falls somewhere b/w reality and wishful thinking. The actors have to, naturally, be attractive ...(probably cuz we still havent opened ourselves to unattractive people...unless ofcourse they're defined by that...and some scriptwriter, in a hurry to not extend his deadline, chalked them in as 'ugly person with beer belly walking in'..with a footnote talking about his sweaty armpits or red face..ahh..stereotypes are predictably fun)..
But heres the fascinating bit, each episode is tinged with a sense of helplessness. Not the most fun way to end a show but its that kick of reality that has me hooked. Ofcourse, i am also (sadly) hooked to The OC (yes yes the very same nonsensical one), 3rd Rock (no sorrow there), Ally Mcbeal (fun fun fun), Gossip Girl (when it was on air...heres where i hide my face), Boston Legal (almost made me try Law as a career..another glamourised take on life), Seinfeld (not my life exactly but i can picture living like that in certain circumstances..make any sense ?) and many more....(and i mean many..i can pretty much watch anything but the difference is in the degrees i go to change my plans to catch em...yes, i actually do that)
So, Life talks about being powerless...today they spent all of 45 minutes trying to catch some Russian guy called Roman (or atleast thats how they pronounced it) cuz he'd heartlessly murdered a woman who he owned (you heard right..and you felt your life was crummy)
and then put her lover in a cage....(no comments)
I shall flit lightly over the flesh racket which operated on importing Russian women to lend/sell/lead on a monthy basis for 10 grand -to old depressed and presumably rich men...did i mention lonely?...
So in the end, even after they get the lover (the police..the male detective is someone who was wrongly sentenced for 12 years and the female detective is someone whose had problems with drugs in the past...basically your average complicated people)...and he is willing to testify in court...Some other branch of the Police comes in and takes over to set Roman (bad guy...think evil incarnate) free cuz he offers them information...so Justice, as always, is thwarted
But in the end the Guy detective goes and bashes up some inconsequential pawn who did something wrong...hence anger relieved..a friend of the dead girl wrangles herself away from the flesh trade and goes off with a backpack while the lover stares at a picture of his love....
And the preview of the next episode shows both detectives saying "i am ---- and i am Powerless"....
How liberating it is to claim lack of power, and how very ironical...
Life is probably more than drug dealers, wrongly implicated people and bad guys going scot free...
I know mine doesn't (luckily) include any of the above on a random day...
But im totally aware of that feeling of frustration when your screwed and theres nothing you can do to change it...
Thats what these shows play at...Getting the empathy gene working..
Sorrow is almost addictive and over-the-top displays of joy (on TV) annoying..
Its like someone rubbing their super happy lives in your face... (growls)
I have a very twisted brain...and the more i write..
the more, my existing opinion of myself gets distorted..
very strange...
adios (just cuz i feel like it)
Ps-The pink font was a way to balance out the grey content..call me clever..or insane..
actually...call me insanely clever...:)
Escape into Nothingness
A night 'in'...
Here are a few reasons why...(i'd like to look back and know them anyway)
But hang on, i should really describe the people involved first...just cuz' i feel like it..
S.Ch-the personification of the pretty young thing...fun...carefree and kinda adorable
Probably cute enough, and young enough, to encourage maternal (i know i know) feelings towards the kid...
Ak-smart funny...laughs at bout everything and can unconsciously lead you to believe (with disasterous results) that you are, in fact, the funniest person in the room...everyone likes such a person
Vi-awww..inverse twin and charismatic leader...wild, unpredicatable yet very much so...love exists beyond reason and logic...also my glitter green queen...
and ofcourse ...yours truly... with a dose of personal righteousness...(mummas girl at times but maybe cuz theres a lack of dissenting opinions b/w them)
Now heres why nights 'in' are fun...
a)No need to spend about half your time together trying to look your best/ thinnest/ hottest *insert suitable fashionable word*
b)Your allowed to want to, and eventually indulge in, long (lonnnnggg) conversations with better halves or worse halves or just some part of you..(this time can also be constructively managed by the other (un?)lucky one, who hasnt handed over a part of herself to someone else, to surf the net or come up with plans to invade the universe with red pooh stickers)
c)Food is never a problem thanks to concerned parents who supply rations for the ravenous barbarians...think chips, diet pepsi, sprite, mirinda, coke (we have distinct tastes), pasta etc.
d)Spontaneous dinner plans are also fab with a friends car being violated and a sudden rush to the bathroom pre them.
e)A feeling of satisfaction also invades the 'wild' girls as the world judges them as they prance around the (extremely) unsafe streets of Delhi at around 11 pm. Nothing like doing something stupid to feel a (false and momentary) sense of liberation.
f)Speeches made on Feminism also have more impact when your dancing around with a gang who is as rebellious without a cause as you are. (Esp speeches declared in extremely loud voices thanks to those gruelling hours of voice modulation and strength exercises for Street Plays)
g)Stopping at a paan wala shop becomes an adventure. As does annoying other well behaved diners with loud raucous laughter.
h)Settling down into comfy borrowed pjs only adds to the feeling of confort as did the lack of high heels pre donning them.
i)There exists no forced need to indulge in gyrating to tracks that one doesnt totally feel like moving ones body to.
j)Conversation impulses are indulged in to the maximum and feeling flow out like water outta some huge ..well..container ...(think a billion miles long or something...my lack of articulation scares me sometimes)
k)You can pair up pink striped pjs with a blue flowers shirt and still feel like a rockstar.
l)Arguments reach new heights of intensity when great minds disagree on topics such as Marriage, Team Work, Brand of Chips, Family Problems...you get the picture.
m)Often, if luck favours you, you may witness how A person provokes B into a heavy conversation and rolls off to sleep while C and D sit through it blinking sleepily.
n)Funny words get mixed up as sleep tries taking over and elaborately fantastical plans are agreed upon at 3 am....say getting up at 7 and driving to Noida to catch a movie.
o)The best part would be seeing 7 am whizzing past 4 sleepy girls as they grumble about the intricacies of time and how very fast it whooshes or whizzes by ...(the two words also being an area of disagreement)
p)Waking up to remembering the pasta left in the car, unopened packets of maggie, half-finished bottles of harmful soft drinks and warm sandwiches is ...interesting..
Pushin your friends out at 12.30 (cuz u gotta be else where) is also ...interesting...so much for mehmaan bhagwaan ke samaan..(ponders on the origin of proverb)...At the end of the day...(or the beginning) theres so much still to be dissected that while wavin mates away...plans for the next night 'in' have already been planned...How much more fantastic can life get exactly?
Ps-to sum it up..
Having, at 8 pm witness Vi defining your Loreal Deep Exfoliating gel wash, after use, as refreshing- probably 1/50th of a dollar
at 8.20 pm witness S.Ch call it 'okay', again after use- 1/10th of a dollar (inflation)
at 10.30 pm paying for dessert by virtue of being the host- about 200 bucks (rupees please)
and at 12-watching A don your fav pink pjs and look better in them than you-Priceless(for her ofcourse!)
:D
MasterCard commercials will never get old for me...
*hails the genius who came up with the original*

Wodehouse is Loved
Let me add my 2 penny bit to it now.
a)Its refreshingly tangy and allows a swift transition into the old aristocratic Brit world which is virtually impossible to melt into, under normal circumstances.
b)No one has ever been able to string together words as rhythmically as him.
c)I find in his books, a way to connect to my grandpapa and even my dad.
d)I love the old parchment feel of the books, even the new ones have that air of being loved which is nearly impossible to find elsewhere.
e)I like the way the end is always miraculously happy with the rich man pitching in to support the wastrel with good ideas for work. (plus the rich man can almost always afford it...think Bertie Wooster)
f)Matrimony is lil more than a game that one dips ones feet in and toys around with. A lighthearted take on life cuz' its viewed from a light heart.
g)Unapologetically fun with sometimes predictable twists that pave the familiar path. What it is to know something well and love it more because of it.
While reading them, you can almost hear the harps in the background. Its what you call a beautiful collection written by a good ol' soul. Company for Henry, you came at a good time to serve as a reminder for the more refined, loved, needed things in life- The icing on the cake and the buttery crackly nuggets buried in butterscotch ice-cream. Yum.
United Salvation of All...
(*except its only about ours and not yours. Read documents carefully before accepting at face value)
Prickly B is very tensed. Groans at the state of War Against Rebels*.
(*Rebels being those who refuse to be subjected to the non-tyrannical regime offered by United Salvation of All)...<--(The Universe butts in to comment rationally on the stupidity exhibited by the 'natives' who refuse give up their sovereignty to a man who clearly knows what he's doing, with their resources.) Gehu then enters the rooms and proceeds to gently run a comb through her hair. (Excuse me, its a brush. The satellite coverage, which spends the larger part of its existence covering their hugely interesting actions, is a little blurry). She ignores Prickly B and dreams of travelling the world. At that exact moment, somewhere over the rainbow, Leno hires a bunch of homeless people to imitate them. The world roars with laughter as it witnesses what it believes to be incompetent people voted into power by an incompetent public. The preciseness of the thoughts is clarified by the world meaning a dark haired girl sitting in India and judging the universe. She is later tracked down by the FBI (Finders of B***** Indians) and shot in the head with a cracker via a parrot but thats another story.
There is a momentary lull as time ticks by and rapists, murderers and criminals of other petty crimes go about their daily business.
The person writing this immesely powerful (and moving) piece shudders in her pink puffed up slippers as she pictures the hail of crackers that would follow the ghastly revelations which are currently and ultimately pointless. After a few more seconds of breathless breathing, a decision is taken to continue this journey on a later day. So thats a wrap folks. You have been the privileged audience to the great workings of some of the brightest minds of our times (also popular due to extensive use of A.S.S scrub which guarantees 'brightness'...must be a weird coincidence) It is assumed that you will be around to read more or else falling TRPS (There aRe People Somewhere) will ensure the fast and painful death of this perspective altering segment. Here is where we part and i freshen up my 'natural-look' make-up. Adios.

Vicks
Well 'Some missing text' is what its all about.
Fill in the blanks.
To suit what/whoever is most important.
Take it in your stride.
And it'll surprise you how much you can take.
Very Sidney
If I get it all down on paper, it's no longer inside of me,
Threatening the life it belongs to
And I feel like I'm naked in front of the crowd
Cause these words are my diary, screaming out loud
And I know that you'll use them, however you want to
But you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable,
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button now
Sing it if you understand.
and breathe, just breathe"
An excerpt from Anna Nalick'- Breathe
Its as though there are other who are not completely unlike yours truly.
Sidney wrt feelings towards writing.
Less alone.
plea for insanity anyone?
Esp zii pseudo great Americans...ohh so OKAY....*consoling voice*
some of you got blown up on 9/11...yes yes ...we all heard about it and also clucked sympathetically for a while...how about getting over it now and getting off your pompous complacent behinds??....i mean seriously!....Wake up, you annoying freaks!
Does everyone STILL have to keep talking about the 'hard time' your going through...
let me give you a reality check..opened your eyes to each festival in Delhi being shadowed by the threat of a bomb blast? Known what its like to wonder if the theatre near your place will be blown to bits cuz of some mentally crippled fanatics (it disgusts me to even associate them with any religion cuz they dont really come from just one side)...
how very self-centered can we get??....Now i guess i get the point behind parodies...much more effective than a rant which seems brushed with anger and a fierce sense of irritation...
Alright...starting tomorrow, i shall be writing (make that attempting) satires..uhh ahh glug glug...*writers block maybe?*
Dad got dadajiz old Wodehouse's ...awwwww...im in love with them...cant wait to get my paws on them...*grimy ones at that*....*cheers*
Books are what really matter...love you Wodehouse...only you can make a crappy day look good and end happily!...
Pelham Grenville Wodehouse...you would be my one true love.
Absurdity
(Page 305)
There is this almost compulsive need in us to try and wrangle out some form of judgement or lesson from incidents. We are never able to successfully isolate them as random pieces of history that just happen with no sinister purpose than the one that appears to give birth to it.
Since i am catering purely to myself out here. I will forget all of the above and talk about my day.
I didnt wake up in my own bed... before you leap to any conclusions...it was S's.. reminds me of what O said...something about jumping up and down his, i love him for being strange. V hates him cuz of that.
Then A dropped by...just 20 mins after S and i dissected Vi...Vi sucks...blew a lot to smithereenssss and sucked out all of something new yet old...gave liquid another name and shook up the who's. That doesnt even make sense...Frg was too lazy to show up...hope she had a nice nap..:)...for real
Saw Horton something. Vi will apparently become insignificant in a few...but till then the tummy feel haunts me..like something only half complete.
Speaking of which...Pranks..ohh so much useless adrenalin pumping fun.
Giggles and adsurdity mingled into one.
ah.. what it is to be nearly 20 and feel 5.
Face is frozen currently with bright green goop. Atishoo... sneezing with a frozen expression is also fun.
There are no full stops in life.. only commas...,,,,,,
Detached yet very into it.....blisters swollen up to gigantic proportions and the nail paint here to stay. Silver is with me all day and Dffy a part of medieval history. m my foot. Birthday comes even closer and running away seems like a great option. Unnecessary celebrations when all thats needed is a pillow and a face to be hidden in it. Loadsa feet lotion instructed and Wednesday draws even closer. Argh, i cover my ears (mentally ofcourse)
Let me go pluck the green stuff off.
(About 7 minutes later)
Green goop pays off...skin feels fantastically smooth.
